Actually, this application was supposed to test a GPS module, but it grew a bit into astronomical direction.
I don't know how to classify or name this program, perhaps a GPS Swiss Knife.
GPS-Astro runs on WM5 and WM6.x touchscreen devices and employs the preinstalled GPS intermediate driver. For this reason it is NOT compatible with Pocket PC 2003 and lower. After a first GPS fix, GPS-Astro will save the coordinates which will then be available at a next start-up for weather data as well as for sun and moon data computations without engaged GPS. Please note that "magnetic variation" is not provided by all GPS modules. In the Reception Condition screen satellites are marked as Sat#/Signal Strength (46 max). After saving one or more KML files, please copy the KML folder underneath the application directory from the device to your desktop. Added digital camera image files must reside in that KML folder. CAUTION PLEASE GPS-Astro is not a navigation aid and designed for walking only with full attention to traffic and terrain. It must not be used on moving vehicles or under severe weather conditions! Speed and heading data are purposely omitted to disencourage use in vehicles.
