"Mokusei" is software which simulates the motions of the Galilean moons of Jupiter and calculates dynamic Jupiter-moon parameters, such as current distances and the sizes Jupiter and its moons would assume as seen from either side. Current or monthly Jupiter ephemerides can be saved as CSV. The position of Jupiter's Great Red Spot can be found easily on a rendered Jupiter globe. A small star chart helps find the current position of Jupiter. Two overview charts are provided, one for today's night, another for the coming 21 days. Mokusei compensates for parallactic angle and the various views through selectable optical systems.
1. Top view of Moon orbits
2. Edge-on view of Moon orbits 3. Simulates moon motions (animation) 4. Corrects orientation as per selected optics 5. Compensates view for parallactic angle 6. Computes rectangular data of the moons 7. Jupiter Ephemerides 8. Jupiter Facts 9. Galilean Moons' Facts 10. Jupiter Ephemerides 11. Hourly view of moon positions 12. Daily view of moon positions 13. Jupiter position on worldmap 14. Rendered view of Jupiter on central meridian 15. Ecliptic centered star chart to 16. DSS access to a star field centered on Jupiter's location
JUPITER CAN GET CLOSE TO THE SUN DURING THE PERIOD COVERED
IN THE EPHEMERIS COMPUTED BY MOKUSEI. OBSERVERS ARE WARNED TO BE WARY
OF OBSERVING JUPITER NEAR THE SUN. NEVER POINT ANY KIND OF
OPTICAL INSTRUMENT AT THE SUN--INSTANT BLINDNESS WILL BE
THE MOST PROBABLE RESULT.
