"PNSC" is software for the purpose of controlling a Celestron NexStar telescope with hand control version 4.03 or later. It requires a serial port for wired or a Bluetooth connection for wireless control.
Optionally, a GPS receiver can be used for acquiring geographical coordinates that PNSC will send to the hand control of the telescope. Virtually, an unlimited number of observation sites can be added by the user, either by manual input or GPS assisted. All sites can be saved as KML for later use with Google Earth. PNSC comes with a large database of GoTo objects, including solar system bodies, which can be updated via the internet. A simple weather station will provide local weather data when the device or the desktop is online. Please read a little more about controlling a NexStar wirelessly with Bluetooth®
1. Connects via serial port or Bluetooth
2. Recognizes HC Version, prohibits unsupported commands 3. GPS support 4. Scans for a free port (wired serial only) 5. Sends GPS coordinates to the hand control 6. Reads GPS coordinates from the hand control 7. Multiple observation site selection 8. Saves observation site as KML for Google Earth 9. Slews the scope in 4 directions 10. Slew rate control 11. Updates coordinates after each slew 12. Returns the scope to north/level 13. Preset slew to south at 45° elevation 14. Reads and sets tracking mode 15. Sync on an object 16. Spiral-in function at selectable speeds 17. Large database of online updateable GoTo objects: - Planets (Galilean moons plot) - Dwarf planets & asteroids - Observable comets - Named stars - Designated stars - Binary stars (Position angle grid)) - Variable stars - NexStar alignment stars - All constellations - Exoplanet Stars - Messier objects - Caldwell objects - NGC objects - IC objects 18. Scope status information 19. Scope command terminal for testing 20. Information about planets above horizon 21. Information about current Moon phase 22. Polar alignment assistant plus finder chart
OBSERVERS ARE WARNED TO BE WARYOF OBSERVING OBJECTS NEAR THE SUN. NEVER POINT ANY KIND OF
OPTICAL INSTRUMENT AT THE SUN--INSTANT BLINDNESS WILL BE THE MOST PROBABLE RESULT.
